My Brother inkjets have even worked on my raspberry Pi 4B since the last update, and I recently did a clean install of Mint 20.2 Xfce to a Lenovo Yoda. My Brother printers are just that - printers.Īndy has given most of the advice I would have given, and the 'gem' in there is that there's a possibility the printer may have worked without installing anything. You may need additional help to get the scanner working, can't help there. Then just add printer from the mint menu > admin > printers. My HL-L8260CDW does driverless printing but I installed the driver and CUPSwrapper anyway. Most modern printers now support "driverless" printing.

Don't know if there is an order you need to follow for the scanner deb files. Install the driver first and then the CUPSwrapper. To install just double click on them in your file manager. That's for the printer, I note there are deb files for the scanner as well, download the 64 bit versions.

If your distribution does not have a 32 bit library as standard, install it. I searched through the FAQs & Troubleshooting section and tried a few fixes, nothing worked.ġ. Brother is the brand of the printer and I tried the drivers from their website.
